A life in locations, songs, snacks, and stories.
I build products for real people, so it feels only fair to introduce the real person behind the work — the places, memories, songs, and meals that made me.

01 / 10Year 1988Sedro-Woolley, Washington
The beginning
Born in a log cabin in Sedro-Woolley, I arrived as the first grandchild—with big shoes to fill and, apparently, a lifetime ahead of me for collecting stories.
Origin story: rustic, cozy, and allegedly iconic.

02 / 10Year 1990Deary, Idaho
Horse-bound
From the beginning, I was horse-bound—growing up wild on a farm where chickens and dogs served as my siblings, even if their conversational skills left something to be desired.
First team: one tiny human, at least one horse, and several very opinionated animals.

03 / 10Year 1993Star Meadows, Montana
Wilderness mode
On a mountain with no internet, phone, or TV, I learned the essentials: fishing, hunting, basic survival, and how to treat 15 feet of snow, cougars, and bears like normal neighborhood features.
Wi-Fi: nonexistent. Character development: aggressive.

04 / 10Year 1998Seattle, Washington
Back to civilization
Back in Seattle, I traded mountain survival for scraped knees and ivy bushes, repeatedly attempting to bike down the walkway to the houseboat we called home.
Still a little wild. Just with more espresso nearby.

05 / 10Year 2001Mount Vernon, Washington
Collecting extracurriculars
When I wasn't in school, playing in the band, or fishing with my dad, I was playing soccer, Major League Little League baseball with the boys, and doing 4-H with my horse, Dancer.
Early evidence that 'taking it easy' was never really the plan.

06 / 10Year 2004Orcas Island, Washington
The awkward years
New to yet another school, I was deep in horse-land and learning to be a teenager through books, art, driving lessons, fruit smoothies, and the exquisite discomfort of being wonderfully awkward.
A formative era for both self-discovery and enthusiastic early-2000s music choices.

07 / 10Year 2008Tucson, Arizona
Wildcat years
Deep into my second year at the University of Arizona, I discovered what happens when you mix creative ambition, big college energy, relentless extracurriculars, and enough pizza to earn a Magna Cum Laude degree.
Academic achievement, questionable sleep schedule, impeccable late-night-snack commitment.

08 / 10Year 2011Manhattan, New York
Two suitcases and a dream
I sold my car and nearly everything I owned, moved to Manhattan with two suitcases and a dream, lived with four roommates on the East Side, and discovered exactly how little sleep—and how much peanut butter—a person can survive on.
New York taught me that 'making it work' is both a skill and a lifestyle.

09 / 10Year 2017Tucson, Arizona
Home, love, and a little sawdust
Back in Tucson, I married my best friend, volunteered with an equine-therapy nonprofit, took on DIY home projects, and learned that a meaningful life can be both ambitious and beautifully ordinary.
Weekend plans: help people, hang with horses, renovate something, repeat.

10 / 10Year Present dayTucson, Arizona
Still becoming
These days, I build products, lead teams, chase big ideas, and remain equal parts desert-rooted, horse-loving, curious human—usually with popcorn, a salad, and a well-earned adult beverage nearby.
Current status: somehow still a little wild, just with better taste and a calendar full of meetings.
10 / 10 — Present day
Still in progress.
Life is a journey, and I am the culmination of the places I’ve been, the people I’ve loved, the risks I’ve taken, the songs I’ve played too loudly, and the meals I still think about.
The map is not finished. Neither am I.
